As an architectural illustrator with over 20 years experience working with architects, interior designers, builders, and developers, I can help your client visualize your finished project. I have had satisfied clients exclaim “I want to live there!” and express that my work is softer, artistic and more appealing than computer drawings. Hand drawn architectural illustrations, once an industry standard, are now much less common. My style has evolved to a unique and recognizable mixed media technique that includes pen and ink, markers, airbrush, watercolors, pastels, prismacolor pencils, ruling pens-whatever it takes.
Though the many 3-D modeling software programs used today are sophisticated, none can achieve the quality and effect of an artist’s handiwork. In fact, I often use SketchUp for the preliminary layout phase to help us decide which view will show your building to its best advantage. This program allows me to quickly generate many possible views from which to choose. But the final product is all by hand (exceptions are a blending of hand drawn and computer-generated renderings).
